Eva June Lowe, age 88 of Streator, Illinois passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025 at her home surrounded by those that loved her most.
Eva was born June 1, 1936 to Irven and Mary Hurt in Fairfield, Illinois. She attended Merriam Grade School and Fairfield High School. Following graduation she moved to Streater to work at Owens Illinois Glass in Streater, where she met and married Dale Lowe and together they had three children.
She is survived by those children, a daughter; Holly (Jim) Bressner of Streater, a son; Tony (Kerry) Lowe of Salt Lake City, Utah and a son; Brian (Kathy) Lowe of Rochelle, Illinois. 11 Grandchildren; Curt Bressner, Benjamin Bodznick, Angie Patterson, Natalie Durdan, Hannah Bressner, Stevie Barlow, Adrienne Altipeter, Lindsey Voegler, Kyle Lowe, Cody Dale and Caleb Dale. 17 Great grandchildren; Lyndi and Savanna Bressner, Elle and Quinlyn “Eva” Bodznick, Amelia and Tori Patterson, Lydia and Jacqueline Durdan, Nakissa Barlow, Austin Greifenkamp, Gavin Altipeter, Aaliyah, Jordan and Kolten Lowe, Ryder Jacobs, Jack Voegler and Dixie Jean Dale. 4 sisters; Barbara Lowe of Streator, Illinois, Marilyn Vogus of Yorkville, Illinois, Linda Payton of Rochelle, Illinois and Karen Haiman of Rochelle, Illinois. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her former husband Dale, brother and sister in law; Donald and Bettye Hurt, brother and sister in law; Kenneth and Henrietta “Babe” Hurt. Sister in child hood; Jean Hurt and infant brother; William Myron Hurt and brother in law; Kenneth Lowe.
Eva loved spending time with her sisters, they were her best and dearest friends. They liked going to Goodwill, Thrift or Antique Shops looking for “treasures” but mostly they just liked being together, laughing and keeping alive old family memories. She loved reading true mysteries and local history/folklore. She loved roses, lilacs, hummingbirds and monarch butterflies.
Graveside services for Eva June Lowe will be held for the immediate family at Union Cemetery Southwest of Fairfield this summer. A monarch butterfly release will be held in celebration of her life.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons; Benjamin Bodznick and Kyle Loe and great grandsons; Austin Greifenkamp, Gavin Altipeter, Ryder Jacobs Jack Voegler, Jordan and Koltet Lowe.
Memorials my be given to the family and will be directed to “Streator Monarch Mission” in memory of Eva.
Nale’s Funeral Home of Fairfield is assisting the family.
