The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a Heat Advisory in effect from Saturday afternoon through Tuesday evening as the region braces for the season’s first major heat wave.
Heat index values are expected to range between 100 and 108 degrees, creating potentially dangerous conditions for prolonged outdoor activity or those without access to adequate cooling.
Residents are urged to take precautions, including staying hydrated, avoiding strenuous outdoor work during peak heat hours, and checking on the elderly, children, and pets.
