A Mt. Carmel man wanted on a felony warrant in a Wabash County sex offender case has been apprehended. 66-year-old James H. Catt was arrested Sunday in Pike County, Indiana, after authorities received a tip from the public.
Catt was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, a felony offense. He is under a lifetime registration requirement stemming from a conviction more than two decades ago.
According to Illinois State Police records, Catt was convicted in Wabash County of aggravated criminal sexual abuse with bodily harm and was sentenced to prison. At the time of the offense, Catt was 43 years old and the victim was 21.
