The Wayne County Historical Society will hold its next meeting on Thursday, July 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Library Meeting Room at the Fairfield Public Library.
The evening will feature guest speaker Matt Vaughn of Fairfield, who will present a program titled “Wayne County Goes to War: Our Boys at Shiloh.” Vaughn, a Historical Society member, has conducted extensive research on the Civil War and the pivotal Battle of Shiloh in Tennessee, where many young men from Wayne County served and fought.
The program offers a unique local perspective on one of the war’s bloodiest battles and aims to highlight the stories of the soldiers from the area who played a part in this historic conflict.
The event is open to the public, and everyone is invited to attend.
