CARMI CHAMBER BRINGS FIREWORKS BACK TO WHITE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS FOR ANNUAL CELEBRATION SATURDAY NIGHT

By Mark Wells Jun 27, 2025 | 11:56 AM

The Carmi Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the return of the community’s annual fireworks celebration to the White County Fairgrounds Saturday night.   The  event is made possible through generous support from the City of Carmi and key sponsors including Taylor Eye Care, The First National Bank of Allendale, Warren Service Company, Rice Motor Company, and Huck’s.

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin between 9:00 and 9:15 pm and to ensure public safety, Carmi Police and the White County Sheriff’s Department will once again manage traffic control. Beginning at 9:00 p.m., several road closures and detours will go into effect:

Southbound traffic on Oak Street to Fairground Road will be closed

Northbound traffic from Main Street at Fairgrounds Road will also be blocked

Additionally, all entrances to the Fairgrounds will be closed to both vehicles and pedestrians during the fireworks display. No one will be allowed inside the fairgrounds once the fireworks begin. Anyone inside the fairgrounds at that time will be asked to leave by Carmi Police or Fire Department personnel.

Spectators are still welcome to park around the perimeter fencing of the fairgrounds, just as they have in previous years, to enjoy the show from a safe distance.  Check the Carmi Police Department Facebook page for the traffic pattern around the fairgrounds.
