NORTH WAYNE SCHOOL BOARD APPROVES BUDGET, ADDS BASS FISHING TEAM AT JUNE MEETING

The North Wayne School Board met Thursday night, starting with a budget hearing where members approved the amended FY25 budget.

During the regular meeting that followed, the board approved several items on the consent agenda, including:

Minutes from the May 21, 2025, regular meeting

Personal leave and dock day requests

Use of the baseball diamond by NWRA for the Paul Hill Memorial Softball Tournament in September 2025

Renewal of the Egyptian Trust Plan for the 2025-26 year with a 35.9% increase

Resignation of Jeff Anderson as Cisne High School Assistant Baseball Coach

Resignation of Teresa Puckett as Cisne Middle School lunchroom and study hall aide

Resignation of Samantha Klingler as Cisne High School Head Softball Coach

 

In other action, the board:

Approved payment of bills

Tabled a decision regarding the Mt. Erie Gym fan

Approved the addition of a Cisne High School bass fishing team

 

Set the 2025-26 school year fees, including:

Driver’s education: $50

Student registration: $40

Community facility use: $50 (Johnsonville or Mt. Erie), $75 (CHS or CMS)

Athletic event admission: $2 for students, $3 for adults

Adult lunch: $3.60; breakfast: $1.45; extra milk: $0.45

The board also voted to release executive session minutes from the past six months (excluding special meetings) and to destroy audio recordings from July to December 2023, except those from special meetings.

 

Additionally, the board approved commercial insurance renewal rates and adopted PRESS Plus policy updates 118 and 119 as recommended.

 

Following executive session, the board hired Leslie Drake as the new CMS lunchroom and study hall aide.
