Matthew Boyd earned his eighth win after holding Cleveland to two runs on five hits in seven innings. The Cubs lead the NL Central at 50-and-35. They send Shota Imanaga to the mound against Cleveland tonight.

The St. Louis Blues are bringing in a veteran center. The team signed Nick Bjugstad to a two-year deal worth three-and-a-half million dollars yesterday. The 32-year-old had eight goals and 11 assists in 66 games with Utah last season. In other team news, St. Louis traded forward Zack Bolduc to the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for defenseman Logan Mailloux.
Sam Lafferty is coming back to Chicago. The Blackhawks traded for the Buffalo Sabres center yesterday. Chicago sent a 2026 sixth-round pick back to Buffalo to complete the deal. Lafferty played with the Hawks during parts of two seasons from 2021 until 2023. He had four goals and three assists in 60 games with the Sabres last year.
