Mildred Elizabeth (Foley) Medlin,90 of Enfield

Mildred Elizabeth (Foley) Medlin passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on December 27th,1934 in Barton, Arkansas to George “Wib” and Mary Foley. Mildred’s life was a testament of dedication to her family & her church.  On August 28,1955 Mildred married Lawrence Medlin where they built a life together for 68 years.

Mildred was a talented seamstress and a passionate quilter, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her skill and artistry. Many will remember her from her time working at the Enfield Sewing Factory, where she retired after over 40 years.  A delightful piece of her personal history includes her childhood, where she walked to school alongside the legendary Johnny Cash.

Mildred was a member of the Enfield Methodist Church where she served as President of United Methodist Women, an officer of the Cunningham Children’s Home, Sunday school teacher, youth leader & church trustee.

Mildred is survived by her children, Vicky Clark of Carmi, IL, and Kathy (Bruce) Weiss of Enfield, IL; grandchildren, Ryan (Vickie) Clark, Cody (Molly) Clark, Jennifer (Kory) Naas and Jordan (Tiffany) Weiss; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Kyson Clark, Matthew and Marcus Clark, Karver Naas, Sutton and Saylor Weiss; her sisters, Shirley Smith and Susan (Bruce) Pearson; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Medlin, her parents, siblings, Louise Robertson, Billy Foley, and Linda Hames; and a son-in-law, Terry Clark.

Funeral services for Mildred Elizabeth Medlin will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield, with burial following at Enfield Cemetery. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Mildred’s memory to Enfield Methodist Church at P.O. Box 206, Enfield, IL. and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield, or by mail to 609 W. Main St., Carmi, IL 62821.
