Grayville Police have clarified details surrounding a recent Facebook post about inappropriate behavior at the city pool, stating the situation appears rooted in mental health rather than criminal intent.
The original post described an incident in which two young boys witnessed an elderly man acting in an inappropriate way at the pool, prompting community concern. According to Police Chief Mason Siegel, the facts point instead to a mental health crisis, as the individual involved is reportedly suffering from dementia.
Chief Siegel emphasized that the concern was taken seriously by city leaders, who are now working closely with the man’s family to ensure he receives appropriate care. The man has been banned from the pool to prevent further incidents, but Siegel stressed that the case does not appear to involve predatory behavior.
