Detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant Tuesday afternoon at a residence located at 306 Highland Avenue in Fairfield as part of an investigation into a July 6th burglary at Colonel Pete’s Storage in Jefferson County.
Assisted by deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and officers from the Fairfield Police Department, investigators searched the home and apprehended 47-year-old Bobby W. Cottrill and 45-year-old Amanda Garner, both residents of the address.
During the search, authorities recovered evidence and stolen property linked to the storage unit burglary. Cottrill was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft Under $500 with a Prior, and Criminal Damage to Property. He was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he remains in custody awaiting a pre-trial detention hearing.
Garner was taken into custody on unrelated arrest warrants out of Wayne County and Clay County. Criminal charges in connection with the burglary are being reviewed by the Jefferson County State’s Attorney’s Office.
