Walmart is recalling approximately 850,000 Ozark Trail 64-ounce metal water bottles after reports that the lids can “forcefully eject,” striking users in the face. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the defect poses serious impact and laceration hazards. Customers who purchased the recalled bottles can return them to Walmart for a refund.
Separately, Hartford Bakery has issued a voluntary recall of around 883 loaves of its “Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf” bread. The recall was prompted by the potential presence of undeclared hazelnuts, which could trigger serious or life-threatening allergic reactions in people with nut allergies or sensitivities.
The affected bread, from six production lots, was distributed to retailers including Kroger and Walmart in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.
Consumers are urged to check their products and follow recall instructions for safety.
