The 17th Annual Wayne County Antique Tractor Drive is set to roll out on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, welcoming all tractor enthusiasts with qualifying machines model year 1995 or older.
The scenic route will begin and end at Merriam Community Church, located at 846 County Road 2300 East in Fairfield. This year’s drive will travel east and south through the historic Pond Creek area, with stops at Lewis Scrap Metal in Burnt Prairie and Boomtown Solar, before pausing for lunch and homemade ice cream at Burnt Prairie Baptist Church.
Check-in starts at 8:00 a.m., with a driver meeting at 8:45 a.m. and departure at 9:00 a.m.. Photos of participants and tractors will be taken during check-in.
Recognition will be given in several categories, including:
Most original unrestored tractor
Oldest tractor
Youngest driver
Furthest traveled participant
Most years of participation
The Earl Smith Memorial Award for the oldest driver
