Edwards County 4-H Poultry Show Results

(Edwards County) – The Edwards County 4-H Poultry Show took place Thursday evening, showcasing top youth talent in various poultry divisions. In the white egg layers category, Josie Shelby earned Best of Show Rooster, while Liam McKinney swept Best of Show for hen, cockerel, and pullet. In the colored egg layers, Emmet McKinney claimed Best of Show for rooster, hen, and cockerel, with Hannah Bare taking the pullet title. The fancy breeds division saw Emmet McKinney once again sweep rooster, hen, and cockerel, while Liam McKinney won Best of Show Pullet. Additional top honors went to Kylar VanMatre for turkey, waterfowl, and game birds, and to Hannah Bare for guinea. Liam McKinney and Emmet McKinney won Best of Show in the young and older pen categories, respectively. Aleya Bare received the Barnyard Special award. Liam McKinney was named Grand Champion Over All Breeds, with Kylar VanMatre earning Reserve Grand Champion. In the market class, Lane Abbott took Grand Champion and received a plaque sponsored by Farm Credit Services of Illinois. Riley Miller was named Reserve Champion. In specialty awards, Kylar VanMatre won Best of Show for one dozen eggs. Emily Spray topped the Senior Showmanship class and received a belt buckle from Farm Credit Services. Josie Shelby and Sarah Spray earned Junior and Novice Showmanship awards, respectively, both sponsored by the Edwards County Farm Bureau Young Leaders.
