Betty Jean Pottorff, 96, of Fairfield

Betty Jean Pottorff, 96, of Fairfield, passed away at 10:55pm on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born on December 12, 1928, in St. Louis, OK, to Lloyd “Slats” and Pearl (Walls) Arnett. On November 2, 1947, she married the love of her life, Vernon Pottorff, who preceded her in death.

Betty had been an accountant for her family businesses and the Farmer’s Store in Fairfield. She was also a long-time member of the First Christian Church, helping in multiple programs through the church.

Survivors include her daughter Arnetta (Bob) Edwards of Fairfield, three grandchildren Brandon Taylor of Fairfield, Amelia (Hayden) Byars of Geff, and Madalyn (Dylan) Toombs of Fairfield, six great grandchildren Gauge and Kaydence Taylor, Brock, Brett, and Bowen Byars, and Tucker Toombs.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Vernon.

Funeral services will be at 1pm on Tuesday, August 5th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the First Christian Church and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
