The Cardinals surrendered four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning. Nolan Gorman, Lars Nootbaar, and Jordan Walker all drove in runs in the losing effort, while Andre Pallante was charged with his eighth loss after allowing two runs on five hits in five innings. The Cardinals dropped two of three in the series.

(Anaheim, CA) — The Chicago White Sox blew a five-run lead during an 8-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium. The Southsiders scored four runs in the top of the first before adding another in the third, but they gave up eight unanswered runs to end the game. Tyler Alexander was charged with his tenth loss after allowing a walk-off home run to Taylor Ward in the ninth. Colson Montgomery homered and drove in four during the losing effort. The Southsiders are in last place in the AL Central at 42-and-70. They visit the Mariners tomorrow night.
(Chicago, IL) — The Chicago Sky are on an eight-game losing streak following an 83-67 loss to the Phoenix Mercury from Wintrust Arena. The Sky trailed by as many as 26 points in the losing effort. Elizabeth Williams led Chicago with 15 points and 15 rebounds off the bench. The Sky are in 12th place in the WNBA at 7-and-21. They host the Mystics tomorrow night.
(Seattle, WA) — The Fever remain red hot after taking down the Storm 78-74 in Seattle. Natasha Howard led all scorers with 21 points for the Fever. Indiana has now won five consecutive games and will continue its four-game road trip tomorrow night when it visits the Los Angeles Sparks.
(Newton, IA) — William Byron held off a late push to claim the checkered flag in the Iowa Corn 350. The driver of the Number-24 car edged Chase Briscoe by just over a second from Iowa Speedway. Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney and Ryan Preece rounded out the top-five finishers. The NASCAR Cup Series field heads to bendy Watkins Glen next Sunday as the regular season winds down. There are only three races left until the playoffs.
