Illinois Extension Wayne County 4-H Announces New Leadership Groups

The Illinois Extension Wayne County 4-H office has announced a new Junior Leadership Group and Leadership Group for the 2025-2026 year. The first new group will be called Junior Emerging Leaders and will replace the Ambassadors and Federation. The requirements include: Being a current 4-H member; being a 6th Grader or 7th Grader as of September 1st; and having been a 4-H Member for at least a year. The purpose of the Junior Emerging Leaders program is to provide a voice for youth through planning, promoting, and advocating in Wayne County 4-H.
The second new group will be called Emerging Leaders and will also replace the Ambassadors and Federation. The requirements include: Being a Current 4-H Member, being an 8th grader as of September 1st, been a 4-H member for at least 2 years. The purpose of the Emerging Leaders program will be the same as the Junior Emerging Leaders, while adding teaching and mentoring in Wayne County 4-H. The goal is to create the next generation of leaders in our 4-H program, community, and world. Both groups will be vital in the Wayne County 4-H program to meet the needs of our 4-H members. Both clubs will be led by 4-H Extension Staff. This is a chance to be a part of something new and exciting in Wayne County that will shape the future of 4-H and will help them reach more youth, community members, and leaders in the years to come. Applications are due August 31, 2025.
