The Fairfield City Council will meet Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall to address a full slate of business items ranging from proclamations and street closings to agreements with local organizations.
Among the highlights of the agenda is a presentation by Mary Murphy of Southern Illinois Critter Fixers, followed by a proclamation declaring August as Fairfield Rotary Centennial Month. The council will also consider several resolutions related to business district agreements—one with Fairfield Memorial Hospital and another with Aaron Tucker, doing business as CrossFit Rax.
Other matters include a highway authority agreement with Green Wave Consulting, LLC for property at 1316 West Main Street, declaring 613 W. College Street as a dangerous building, and approving street closings for three upcoming community events: the Fairfield Community High School Homecoming Parade on October 17th, the City and Chamber Halloween Celebration & Trunk or Treat on October 31st, and the Veteran’s Parade on November 8th.
Infrastructure items up for discussion include awarding a bid for the South First Street General Maintenance Project and appropriating MFT funds for general maintenance on various roads. Council members will also review Brandon Cline’s petition for disconnection of property at 1233 S. First Street, a request to modify an agreement with B-All Technology Solutions, and the renewal of an intergovernmental agreement with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources for Atkinson Forest.
The recreation fund expenditure request for the Fall Fun Fest will also be considered before the financial report, miscellaneous business, and an executive session if necessary.
