The Grayville City Council quickly worked through a brief agenda Monday night, adjourning after just ten minutes in open session. No executive session was held, and the only agenda item—an amendment to the ordinance regulating solicitor hours—was tabled.

Mayor Travis Thompson suggested limiting door-to-door sales to Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The council postponed action to allow City Attorney Jay Walden to prepare the revised ordinance.

During the meeting, Walden and Commissioner Don Baldwin commended residents for their ongoing efforts to maintain and clean up city lots.

Police Chief Mason Siegel reported July statistics, including 207 service calls, 10 investigations, 6 arrests, and 3 warrants served. Officers issued 8 citations and 4 written warnings during the month.

On Tuesday, Mayor Thompson announced upcoming infrastructure work, noting that North Main Street from East North to East Mill will be closed for 2–3 days while concrete is poured over a newly installed water line.

Financially, Grayville has a strong balance sheet with more than $3.3 million in total funds—$1.7 million in restricted accounts, $1.4 million in investments, and $158,718 in operational cash.
