A McLeansboro man is facing multiple charges after allegedly breaking into a residence early Monday morning, taking a dog, and leading law enforcement on a pursuit.
According to the McLeansboro Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:19 a.m. to a report of a man entering a home and stealing a dog. The caller told police she had an active Order of Protection against the suspect, identified as Lucas Faber, who had recently been released on parole.
Before police arrived, a Hamilton County sheriff’s deputy spotted Faber’s vehicle leaving the area. When officers attempted to stop him, Faber refused to pull over and fled. Authorities say the pursuit ended after Faber struck a McLeansboro police vehicle twice before returning to the residence he had broken into.
Faber was taken into custody after officers deployed a Taser. He is now facing charges of Home Invasion, Violation of an Order of Protection, Residential Burglary, Theft, Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and multiple traffic offenses.
He is currently being held at the White County Jail at Carmi pending a court appearance.
