Grant Hoskins, 92, of Geff, passed away on September 7, 2025, in Evansville, IN. Grant was born August 3, 1933, in Saunemin, Illinois to Guy T. and Hattie Faye Hoskins. He married Linda Brown in 1958. They celebrated 65 years together.
Grant lived a life of community service; he was a Korean War Veteran, owned and operated Hoskins’ Sunoco Service Station for decades before being elected Lamard Township Road Commissioner until his early retirement at the age of 84. Grant served on the Geff School Board and was a longtime member of the Geff Rural Fire Department and the Geff Ruritan Club. He loved nature and enjoyed walks in the woods, Sunday afternoon drives and feeding the squirrels, rabbits and a menagerie of birds congregating daily in the backyard.
He is survived by his daughters, Patti (Scott) Nickens of Evansville, Peggi (Ed) Bryant, Bellville, Tx, Susie (Scott) Wood of Fairfield. Son, Chris (Ladonna) Hoskins of Geff.
Grandchildren: Grayson (Scott) Hyde, Ian Nickens, Grant (Meredith) Nickens, Baili (Casey) Rhodes, Barkley (John) Donaho, Cassidy (Zac) Lofton, Christopher (Lesli) Hoskins, Clay (Chris) Hoskins, Micheal (Kassy) Hill, Bronson Wood, and Alec Wood.
Great Grandchildren: Cooper and Stella Rhodes, Iris and Archer Hyde, Elizabeth Donaho, Violet and Ellie Hoskins and Rebecca Lofton.
Grant was proceeded in death by his wife Linda, his parents, brothers – Joe Hoskins, Bill Hoskins and Guy Hoskins Jr., sisters – Martha Ziller, Mary Johnston, and Helen Hutchens.
Graveside services will be at 11am Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Bestow Cemetery in Geff. There will be no visitation, friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery.
