The Illinois State Police (ISP) have arrested 25-year-old Jesse W. Trout of Eldorado on a charge of First-Degree Murder (Class M Felony) following a deadly shooting in Eldorado early Sunday morning.
Around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Eldorado Police officers responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting near Benton Street and First Street. Upon arrival, officers found 44-year-old Michael J. Wiseman of Eldorado suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Wiseman was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
After a joint investigation by ISP and Eldorado Police, Trout was arrested in connection with the shooting. Monday, the Saline County State’s Attorney’s Office formally charged him with First-Degree Murder.
Trout is being held in the Saline County Jail following a detention hearing Monday. He will remain in custody pending trial.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are being released at this time.
