The Fire Chiefs of Clay County have announced a burn ban that will remain in effect until further notice.
The ban prohibits all open-air burning, including trash, landscape debris, and agricultural fires. Officials said the decision was made due to extremely dry conditions and the lack of significant moisture in the forecast.
Residents are urged to comply with the ban to reduce the risk of wildfires. The restriction will remain in place until conditions improve and fire chiefs determine it is safe to lift.
