The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and County Board have announced a countywide burn ban now in effect until further notice. No open burning is permitted during the restriction.
Separately, the Norris City Fire Protection District also issued a burn ban Wednesday for the Village of Norris City. Officials cite extremely dry vegetation and the ongoing harvest season as reasons for the bans.
Both bans will remain in place until conditions improve.
