The Wayne County Board met in regular session Thursday evening, September 11th with all 14 members present.

In other business, the board approved a construction contract for a bridge replacement on County Road 250N in Leech Township, also known as Seven Hills Road.

Following a short executive session, the board declared a vacancy in the coroner’s office due to the recent passing of Coroner Carrie Jo Dagg. Deputy Coroner Shari Winter was appointed to serve out the remainder of Dagg’s term until the results of the 2026 election are certified next November, at which time a full-term coroner will be sworn in.
The sheriff and jail committee reported that the county jail passed its annual inspection with 100% compliance.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
