The Enfield Village Board held its regular monthly meeting last Tuesday night, approving the annual audit and tentative budget for the fiscal year ending April 30, 2025. The audit showed all fund balances are positive, and the village has met legal debt limits. The board also approved a $13,000 contract with Dartt & Company for next year’s audit.
A revised 13-month police service contract with Mill Shoals, beginning October 1st was approved. Ongoing projects include street lighting upgrades, Community Center repair estimates, park improvements, and Northside Park fence installation, expected to finish this month.
Animal Control reported one dog at the pound and two cats removed. Police updates include Brandon Smythe starting as a full-time officer Wednesday. Utilities reported the village mower is running well but may need a backup.
The board announced items for sale, including a 2005 GMC Sierra K3500 and two parcels of land, with bids to be opened next month. They also approved renewing the Mule Day banner, sponsoring car show trophies, closing streets for the Enfield Car Show on October 18th and purchasing a laptop for the Village Clerk.
Residents can submit community events for the village website and are invited to volunteer for Haunted Halls at Booth School on Halloween night.
