An 18-year-old man from Mt. Vernon had to be extricated from his pickup truck following a rollover crash late Saturday night. The incident occurred at 10:16 p.m. on Dartmouth Road, west of Duncan Road, east of Mt. Vernon.
According to initial information from the Jefferson County Fire Department, the man’s truck veered off the south side of the road for unknown reasons and overturned into a soybean field. After being rescued from the vehicle, he was transferred to an Air Evac Medical Helicopter and transported to St. Louis University Hospital.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the crash. The man’s name has not been released.
