Jennifer Mudge has been appointed as special prosecutor in the case involving Frontier Community College head volleyball coach Chet Snyder, who faces multiple felony charges.
Snyder has been formally charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, unlawful restraint, and providing alcohol to a minor. He is accused of having unlawful sexual contact with two males, one of whom was a juvenile at the time of the alleged incidents.
Mudge, a former assistant state’s attorney in Madison County, currently serves as a prosecutor with the Illinois Appellate Prosecutor’s Office. She was appointed to oversee the case after Wayne County State’s Attorney Kyle Ellis recused himself.
Snyder remains free under electronic monitoring and is scheduled for arraignment on October 7 in Wayne County Circuit Court.
