The Edwards County FFA chapter has completed its first competition of the year, taking part in the Section 23 Forestry Career Development Event (CDE).
The Forestry CDE focuses on tree identification, map reading, and other forestry-related skills. Representing Edwards County were Kayden Alexander, Gabe Beadles, Gus Bishop, Cheyenne Duncan, Simon Greathouse, and Lexie Rivera. The team is coached by Mrs. Michelle Wiseman.
The Edwards County FFA Forestry Team placed third overall in the competition. Individually, Simon Greathouse finished seventh, Gabe Beadles placed ninth, and Cheyenne Duncan rounded out the top 10.
