FLORA ACADEMIC FOUNDATION TO HOST ANNUAL APPLEKNOCKER FESTIVAL SATURDAY

The Flora Academic Foundation is set to host its annual Appleknocker Festival on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Flora Elementary School with a day full of free entertainment, food and fun activities for all ages.

Festivities will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with a flag-raising ceremony featuring the Shooting Stars Drill Team, followed by a performance from the Flora High School Band under the direction of Ethan Steber at 9:45 a.m. Power and Grace Tumbling and Dance will take the stage in the school’s multipurpose room at 10:30 a.m. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Laila Smith will host an open mic session on the outdoor stage, while DAS-zle Dance and Tumble will perform at 1:00 p.m. in the multipurpose room.

Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy food and games, a pedal tractor pull hosted by the Clay County Farm Bureau Young Leaders, tours of Clay County emergency vehicles, and a hands-on robotics display. The festival will conclude at 2:30 p.m.

The Flora Academic Foundation organizes the Appleknocker Festival to raise funds that supplement and enhance educational opportunities for students in the Flora Unit School District. For more information, visit the FAF/Appleknocker link on the Flora school website.
