By Tony Collins Jul 5, 2023 | 6:43 AM

The State of Illinois in 2021 adopted new measures involving notary personnel.

Last month, the state adopted the rules officially to make the changes take affect. There are several changes with the new rules.

There are now 3 types of notary options; in-person, remote, and electronic.

Beginning in 2024, those wanting to become notaries will have to take a 3-hour training course before submitting and application. With that, there will be a 50 question exam where a score of 85% is required to pass. Each notary must also carry a bond from $5,000 to $30,000 depending on the type of notary.
