Murder charges against a Fairfield man in the death of 57-year-old Curtis D. Sutton also of Fairfield have been dismissed.
Wayne County State’s Attorney Kyle Ellis filed a motion Tuesday afternoon to drop the top four charges against Kaine Nino, including first- and second-degree murder. Judge Denton Aud granted the motion, leaving Nino facing a single count of aggravated battery.
Nino has been released from the Wayne County Jail under pretrial conditions. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for November 4th in Wayne County Circuit Court.
