AREA SPORTS RESULTS FROM FRIDAY:
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
The Fairfield Mules Football team lost a tough matchup on the road Friday night 46-22 against undefeated Johnston City. Fairfield stayed competitive with the Indians early in the game despite costly turnovers, and had a lead over Johnston City with 2 minutes remaining in the 1st half. However, the Indians defense was too much for the Mules and held them scoreless the rest of the game. The Fairfield Mules offense was led once again by Michael Barner who had 16 rushes for 120 yards and 2 touchdowns. Nick Munoz led the Mules defense with 7 tackles. The Mules will be on the road again next week versus the Flora Wolves.
