WET START TO THE WEEK EXPECTED TODAY INTO TUESDAY

The National Weather Service in Paducah says a cold front moving in from the west will bring a stretch of wet weather to the region beginning today (Monday) and continuing into Tuesday. Off-and-on rain showers are expected through much of today before becoming more persistent and heavier tonight into Tuesday.

Forecasters say most areas can expect between half an inch to an inch and a half of rain, though some localized areas could see higher totals. Heavy downpours may lead to minor flooding concerns in low-lying or poor-drainage areas, especially across southern and eastern portions of the region.

After the front moves through, drier and more seasonable conditions will return for the second half of the week. High pressure building over the Ohio Valley will bring highs in the 70s with cooler nighttime lows in the 50s and even upper 40s.
