Cisne FFA members have recently achieved notable success across several regional competitions.
On Thursday, October 2nd, Cisne FFA’s Ag Sales team—Ava Greifzu, Antenella Cline, Hagen Howard, and Kadence Hyder—finished second in the Section 23 Ag Sales Leadership Development Event hosted by Wabash Valley College. Nineteen students from five schools competed. Individual honors went to Hagen Howard (3rd overall), Ava Greifzu (5th), and Antenella Cline (8th). The 2025 Ag Sales product was a Rimol Greenhouse package, and competitors faced a written quiz, a product sales scenario, and a team activity. The Cisne team will advance to the district competition at Rend Lake College later in October.

In the Section 23 Job Interview Leadership Development Event, held September 30th at Wabash Valley College, Claire Cannon and Kenzie Alvis represented Cisne FFA. Cannon placed 4th overall in the Varsity Division, while Alvis took 2nd in the Junior Varsity Division, qualifying her for the district-level event at Southern Illinois University Carbondale later this month. The competition assessed students on their cover letter, resume, job application, personal interview, and thank you letter. Nine area schools participated.

Eighteen Cisne FFA members competed on Friday, October 3rd at the District V Horse Judging Career Development Event at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. The team placed 6th overall out of forty-eight schools and more than 450 students. Claire Matthews was Cisne’s high scorer, finishing 11th overall individually. The competition required judging six rings of four horses, including both halter/confirmation and performance classes.
