Donna Jean (Trotter) Downen, 71, of Fairfield, IL passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at her home. Donna was born on January 19, 1954 to Delmer & Gayle (Smith) Trotter. She had worked as a technician for Champion Laboratories in Albion, IL.
Donna was a kind soul who was always quick to help those in need. She was an avid reader, and took great joy in the outdoors. She enjoyed gardening, mushroom & asparagus hunting, spending time outdoors, and visiting with friends.
Donna is survived by her mother Gayle Trotter, 2 sons: Phonnie Lee Downen and Eric Downen, 2 grandsons: Ike Downen and Evan Downen, 2 great-grandchildren, and a brother Randy (Cathy) Trotter.
She was preceded in death by her husband Phonnie Downen, her father Delmer Trotter, 2 brothers: Roger Trotter and Rick Trotter, and a sister Diana Holzheu.
A memorial service for Donna Jean (Trotter) Downen will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the First Christian Church in Wayne City, IL with Pastor Steve Griswold officiating. A memorial gathering will be held prior to the service from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
