FAIRFIELD COIN CLUB TO HOST 55TH ANNUAL SHOW AND AUCTION SUNDAY

The Fairfield Coin Club will host its 55th annual Coin Show and Auction on Sunday, October 12th at North Side Grade School. Doors open to the public at 9 a.m. with hourly door prizes beginning at 10 a.m.

Auction lots will be on display throughout the morning. At 1 p.m., the club will present special awards, followed by the popular penny-stacking contest for kids at 1:30 p.m. The junior auction begins at 2 p.m., and the regular auction at 2:30 p.m. Raffle winners will be announced at 3 p.m.

This year’s show book is dedicated to longtime member and director Maynard Doty, remembered for his dedication to the club and its events.

The club will also present its annual scholarships. This year’s $500 awards go to Frontier Community College students Curtlyn Coale and Blayne Windland. Since 1990, the club has awarded $28,000 in scholarships and has supported local organizations including Fairfield Memorial Hospital, the police department’s K-9 unit, and Kids in Motion.

Raffle prizes include a 1911 S $5 Gold Indian, a 1914 D $2.50 Gold Indian, a five-ounce bar of Tombstone silver, and multiple 2025 Silver Eagles. Tickets are six for $5, and winners must be present for fifth-place drawings.

Twenty tables of dealers will be on-site with U.S. and foreign coins available for buying, selling, trading, or appraisal. Jacque’s Lunchbox will provide food.

The Fairfield Coin Club, established in 1967, meets monthly at Frontier Community College. Membership is $2 annually, with free membership for those 16 and under.The Club meets the second Sunday of each month. The meeting is held at Frontier Community College Building West.
