A semi-truck crash early Monday morning blocked northbound lanes of Interstate 57 in Franklin County and spilled tens of thousands of pounds of applesauce, according to Illinois State Police.

Troopers said the crash happened around 4:38 a.m. near the 76 mile marker. The truck tractor and semi-trailer overturned, shutting down both northbound lanes for several hours.

No injuries were reported, but traffic was detoured around the crash site while crews worked to clear the wreckage.

Authorities said approximately 46,000 pounds of applesauce spilled during the crash.

Both lanes were reopened to traffic by 8:45 a.m.
