Mt. Vernon firefighters responded Friday morning to a small fire at the Cracker Barrel restaurant, which originated in the building’s HVAC ductwork.
According to the fire department, crews quickly ventilated the building and brought the situation under control. The restaurant was temporarily closed for safety checks and cleanup, but reopened for lunch Friday.
No injuries were reported.
