A single-vehicle crash on County Highway 16 in Bedford Township sent three people to the hospital Monday afternoon, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.
61-year-old Brian Fitzhugh of Cisne was traveling westbound on County Highway 16 in a 2011 Ford Escape when the vehicle left the roadway. Fitzhugh’s vehicle struck a field access driveway embankment and rolled over, coming to rest on its roof in the ditch. Two female passengers were also injured and transported to area hospitals. Authorities say the crash occurred just after 6:30.
Fitzhugh was flown by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.
