40-year-old, Amanda Ball of Fairfield, was sentenced Thursday in Wayne County Circuit Court to seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. The court also denied Ball’s motion for a new trial. Ball was found guilty in August on multiple drug-related charges, including delivery of methamphetamine (more than 15 but less than 100 grams), possession of methamphetamine (more than 15 but less than 100 grams), use of a vehicle or property to distribute methamphetamine, and possession of a controlled substance.
59-year-old Russell Pragit of Burnt Prairie received a five-year sentence in the Illinois Department of Corrections, also followed by one year of mandatory supervised release. Pragit pleaded guilty to burglary charges stemming from an incident that occurred in July of this year.
Brittany Bush, 37, of Fairfield, admitted in court Thursday to violating the terms of her probation.
Bush was originally placed on an 18-month probation sentence following a conviction for unlawful possession of methamphetamine. As a result of the violation, the court has resentenced Bush to a new, two-year term of probation. She was also ordered to pay associated court costs. Additionally, the Judge, Matt Vaughn issued an automatic stayed sentence of 180 days in the Wayne County Jail. This jail sentence will be imposed only if Bush violates the terms of her new probation period.
