FDA EXPANDS CINNAMON RECALL OVER LEAD CONCERNS

By Mark Wells Oct 21, 2025 | 5:54 AM

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expanding its recall of ground cinnamon products due to concerns about elevated lead levels.

According to the latest FDA update, ground cinnamon from the brands HAETAE, Roshni, Durra, and Wise Wife has now been added to a growing list of brands that “may be unsafe” for consumption. The expansion comes after state testing detected high lead levels in certain products, findings that were later confirmed by the FDA.

No illnesses or adverse events had been reported as of September, but the FDA urges consumers to avoid purchasing or consuming these recalled ground cinnamon products. An investigation into the source and extent of contamination is ongoing.

Consumers are advised to check the FDA website for the latest updates and a full list of affected brands. Anyone who has purchased the recalled products should dispose of them safely.
