Clay County Water has announced that the boil water order issued Monday morning for all customers has now been lifted.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) notified the utility Tuesday that water samples had passed all safety tests, confirming the water is safe for drinking and cooking.
Residents may now resume normal water use.
