Local law enforcement officials have reported two arrests on Wednesday.

37- year-old Joel L. Waldrop was taken into custody late Wednesday afternoon by Wayne City Police on a charge of Domestic Battery. Waldrop was transported and lodged in the Wayne County Jail awaiting a court appearance

Earlier in the day, just before 1:30, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department arrested Donald A. Walker, 39 of Fairfield for Aggravated Assault. The arrest stems from an investigation by the Sheriff’s Department into an attempted assault on a juvenile. The investigation determined Walker was upset with his juvenile child and grabbed a butcher knife and began pacing, saying he was going to kill them. Walker attempted to enter the juvenile’s room with the knife but was restrained by another party. Walker threw the knife and departed the residence. The Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation and developed probable cause to make an arrest. Walker is being held in the Wayne County Jail pending a court appearance.
