Rome Grade School was placed on a precautionary “soft” lockdown Friday morning after Jefferson County 911 received several calls about a man acting abnormally north of Dix, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials stated that there was no immediate threat to students, staff, or the school itself. The lockdown was implemented out of an abundance of caution. The situation was quickly resolved, and the lockdown was lifted once authorities determined there was no danger.
