The National Weather Service in Paducah says scattered showers will linger across the region this afternoon, with light rain or drizzle possible tonight and into Monday.
The main weather system is expected to arrive late Tuesday and continue through Wednesday, bringing a prolonged period of steady—at times heavy—rainfall across the area. Forecasters project between 1 and 2.5 inches of total rainfall during the event, which is above average for this time of year.
Temperatures will remain seasonably cool throughout the week, with little warming expected. Wednesday is forecast to be the coldest day, with highs likely struggling to reach the upper 50s.
