State Representative Dave Severin (R-Benton) recently toured the ongoing renovations at Rend Lake Resort alongside state and local officials. Severin expressed optimism about the project, citing major improvements such as new walls, flooring, roofing, HVAC systems, a new kitchen, updated conference rooms, and safer decking. Cabins and boatels are also being upgraded.
Severin commended the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) and contractors for their efforts, stating, “We are making progress every day toward reopening Rend Lake Resort to the public.”
Renovations are expected to finish in spring 2026, with plans to select an operator and fully reopen the resort and conference center in 2027. Severin said the project promises to deliver a world-class facility for Southern Illinois residents and visitors.
