Dalibor Dvorsky and Robert Thomas both scored in the second period to tie the game at two, while Pius Suter knocked in the game-winner with under two minutes left in regulation. The Blues snapped a seven-game losing streak but remain in last place in the Central Division with ten points. They visit the Capitals tomorrow night. The St. Louis Blues are swapping out defensemen. The team traded for Washington Capitals blue-liner Calle Rosen yesterday. St. Louis sent Corey Schueneman back to Washington to complete the deal. Rosen hasn’t appeared in an NHL game since the 2023-24 season with St. Louis. He had one assist in six games that season.

The Chicago Blackhawks surrendered a pair of goals in the second period during a 3-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. Andre Burakovsky got the Hawks back within a goal by scoring in the third period, but Jordan Eberle sealed the game with a score in the final four minutes of regulation. Chicago is tied for fifth place in the Central Division with 13 points. The Hawks visit the Canucks tomorrow.

The number-14 Illinois Fighting Illini opened up their 2025-26 basketball season with a 113-55 rout over Jackson State at State Farm Center. Illinois led 60-27 at halftime and still outscored Jackson State by 25 the rest of the way. Tomislav Ivisic and Ben Humrichous both scored 21 points in the victory, while David Mirkovic had 19 points and 14 rebounds. The 1-and-0 Illini host Florida Gulf Coast on Friday.

(Undated) — The Cardinals closed out Week Nine of the NFL regular season with a 27-17 win over the Cowboys on Monday Night Football from Dallas. One of the best games of year happened on Sunday when the Bears came from behind to take down the Bengals in a 47-42 shootout. The Panthers pulled off the upset of the week with a 16-13 win over the Packers from Lambeau Field. Meanwhile, Week 10 kicks off with a Thursday Night Football tilt between the Raiders and Broncos from Denver.

(Chicago, IL) — Cade Horton’s stellar rookie season is being recognized across the MLB. The Cubs ace was named a finalist for the National League Rookie of the Year Award yesterday. Horton went 11-and-4 with a 2.67 ERA in 118 innings this past season. The Rookie of the Year winners will be announced next Monday.

(Undated) — The finalists for this season’s MLB awards were announced on Monday. Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge, Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh and Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez are the three players up for the American League MVP Award. In the NL, Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani, Mets outfielder Juan Soto and Phillies DH Kyle Schwarber are the MVP finalists. On the mound, Tarik Skubal of the Tigers, Garrett Crochet of the Red Sox and the Astros’ Hunter Brown are up for the AL Cy Young Award. Paul Skenes of the Pirates, Dodgers World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto and the Phillies’ Cristopher Sánchez are up for the Cy Young in the National League. The winners will be announced next week.

(Atlanta, GA) — The Braves have found their new manager. The team hired Walt Weiss on Monday. He served as the team’s bench coach since 2018 and succeeds Brian Snitker. Both men helped contribute to a 2021 World Series victory. Weiss is now a manger for the second time in his career after his stint with the Rockies from 2013-to-16. He also played for Atlanta in the late 1990s.

(El Segundo, CA) — The Chargers will be without their star blindside blocker for the remainder of the season. Los Angeles left tackle Joe Alt will undergo season-ending surgery after sustaining a high right ankle sprain in the team’s win over the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. The 22-year-old was injured during the second quarter after Titans defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day fell into his right ankle. The Chargers are 4-and-0 this season with Alt in the starting lineup and 2-and-3 without him. The Chargers are now without standout offensive tackles Alt and Rashawn Slater, who was suffered a season-ending patellar tendon rupture in his left knee in training camp, for the rest of the year.

(Santa Clara, CA) — The 49ers will be without their 2025 first-round pick for the rest of the season. San Francisco rookie defensive end Mykel Williams suffered a torn right ACL during the team’s 34-24 win over the New York Giants on Sunday. Williams was injured during the fourth quarter after his knee buckled while chasing New York quarterback Jaxson Dart. The 21-year-old will undergo season-ending surgery and will then begin a lengthy recovery process while looking forward to the 2026 season. The Niners selected Williams 11th overall in April out of Georgia. He finishes his rookie campaign with 20 total tackles and one sack in nine games played.

(Philadelphia, PA) — The Eagles continue to make moves on defense. The team acquired Jaelan Phillips from the Dolphins on Monday in exchange for a third-round pick in April’s draft. The edge rusher has three sacks in nine games this season and will become a free agent once it ends. Philly made the move just days after adding cornerback Jaire Alexander from the Ravens.

(Undated) — The Titans and Ravens reportedly made a swap ahead of the NFL trade deadline. Tennessee is sending linebacker Dre’Mont Jones to Baltimore in exchange for a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2026 draft. Jones has 26 total tackles and four-and-a-half sacks this season, his first with the Titans.

(Undated) — The Commanders will be without linebacker Frankie Luvu for a game after he was suspended for repeatedly violating the league’s rule on hip drop tackles. Luvu has been penalized three times this season, including one in Sunday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Luvu has 50 total tackles and two sacks in his first season with Washington. He will reportedly appeal the suspension.
>>Browns HC Kevin Stefanski Done Calling Plays Again
(Cleveland, OH) — The Browns’ head coach is once again done calling plays. Kevin Stefanski told the media on Monday that offensive coordinator Tommy Rees will take over playcalling duties starting on Sunday against the Jets. Cleveland is just 2-and-6 and coming off a bye week where the decision was made. This is now the second straight season Stefanski will relinquish the role.

(Tuscaloosa, AL) — Alabama football is dishing out some discipline. Head coach Kalen DeBoer said Monday that defensive back Dre Kirkpatrick Jr. has been suspended indefinitely. Kirkpatrick was arrested Saturday on three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of attempting to elude and speeding. He was released on a 15-hundred-dollar bond. The Crimson Tide host LSU on Saturday.
