Two separate crashes occurred within minutes of each other Thursday morning on northbound I-57 near milepost 89 in Jefferson County.
According to the Illinois State Police, the first crash, just after 9 a.m., involved a semi and an SUV, resulting in one injury. One lane was partially blocked, with the right lane reopening at 11:40 a.m.
Around 9:15 a.m., a second crash involved a semi and an RV. No injuries were reported, and one lane was again partially blocked until 11:40 a.m.
No further details have been released regarding either incident.
