Doris Weiler, age 77, of Clay City, IL

Doris Weiler, age 77, passed away peacefully, on November 4, 2025, at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital in Olney, Illinois.

Doris was born January 1948 in Blountstown, Florida, as the oldest daughter of the late Donald and Florida Halley. She spent her childhood in Panama City, Florida, with her five siblings. Family and friends were always an incredibly important part of Doris’s life.

On August 29, 1969, Doris married the love of her life, Alan Weiler. They spent the next 56 years together, side by side, travelling the world making lifetime friends wherever they went. As an Army wife, Doris held the home front as Alan served our country. She took immense pride in her children and later her grandchildren. Doris loved decorating her home for the various holidays, attending craft fairs, and Friday night card games. There was never a dull moment and always laughter wherever Doris went.

Doris is survived by her husband, Alan Weiler of Clay City, Illinois; her daughter, Shari (Kevin) Ezell of Stuttgart, Germany, and her son, Chad (Jessie) Weiler of Anchorage, Alaska; her four grandchildren, Katie Ezell, Allie Ezell, Kira Weiler, and Chase Weiler; her two sisters, Pat (Gerald) Stallings, Cindy (Gary) Holden; her three brothers, Larry (Marie) Halley, Donnie Halley, and Tony Halley.

A Celebration of Life for Doris Weiler will begin with a visitation held from 12 noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora. A ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Todd Bettis, and will be followed by a procession to Clay City Cemetery for committal and burial.
