The former postmaster at the Ridgway Post Office has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to methamphetamine and fentanyl charges in Posey County, Indiana.

37-year-old Kelli J. Hale, 37 of Ridgway received the sentence last week in Posey County Circuit Court in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Her case stems from a March 10th traffic stop in Mt. Vernon, when police pulled Hale over shortly after midnight for failing to use a turn signal.

During the stop, officers discovered approximately 36 grams of methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with a glass smoking pipe and digital scales.

Judge Craig Goedde approved a recommendation for Hale to participate in the Recovery While Incarcerated Program, giving her an opportunity for treatment while serving her sentence. Hale was also credited with 240 days of time served and 80 days of earned credit, totaling 320 days plus ordered to pay court costs.
